As consumers, it's important for us to keep ourselves educated on what authentic products from a region are and to support companies that prioritize quality and ethical sourcing.
The use of the terms pashmina/shahtoosh so loosely for acrylic and polywool not only devalues the true beauty and worth of genuine pashmina or pure wool, but it also harms the livelihoods of the artisans who depend on the trade.
